THE QUALIFICATIONS FRAMEWORK is maintained by the The Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ). It aims at providing authoritative assurance of the quality of educational programmes and professional qualifications in Hong Kong.
There are 7 levels within the framework. The Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education, for example, is a QF Level 3 qualification. When student pursue further studies, please make sure that you are studying a course / programme that will lead to a higher QF level than your highest qualification ever obtained.
A specific programme / professional qualifications is only recognized when it has obtained assurance from the HKCAAVQ. Students should, therefore, ONLY apply to courses that are certified by the HKCAAVQ. Otherwise, he/she may risk wasting time and money pursuing a qualification that is not recognized in Hong Kong.
