Some notable changes:
Selection Principles
After having fulfilled the University entrance requirements and programme entrance requirements, our 34 undergraduate programmes will adopt the following principles to consider your admission to HKU.
a) 4C+2x
b) Best 5
c) Best 6
For ‘Best 5 subjects’ principle being adopted, the combination of your best 5 subjects does NOT mean ‘4C + 1X’; instead, it can be ‘3C + 2X’, or even ‘2C + 3X’ (if you have taken more than 2 electives). This arrangement will certainly give you flexibility in making the best combination of scores out of your HKDSE results. The subjects below refer to Category A subjects and M1/M2 are excluded, unless otherwise specified.

Only two HKU undergraduate programmes require you to study M1 or M2, they are:
a. Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Finance [BSc(QFin)]
b. BSc (Actuarial Science) (AC)
BBA(IS) (6793), BENG (6963) & BENG (EngSc) (6951) will give preference to students who have completed M1 / M2
